A BIT ABOUT ME

I’m Travis Diniz Swingler.
American-Brazilian, Father, Husband, Friend, Ally, Mentor, Artist

If I’m not building Lego with my kids, playing video games, watching movies or making something in my backyard, I’m loving my job as a Creative Director. For 15+years I’ve been building brands & friendships at some of the worlds top agencies–FCB, TBWA\Chiat\Day, 72andSunny, Deutsch, VMLY&R, RG/A, Doner (and many more as a recent freelancer). I’ve also lead dozens of creative teams in creating effective & award-winning work for brands like Activision, Nissan, Pepsi, Keurig Dr Pepper, Harley–Davidson and more. If I’ve learned anything in my many years in this business, it is:

Success is a result of focused effort, positivity, gratitude for what you get to do & caring for people more than projects. That won’t always be easy, but it will always work.

WHEN YOU WISH

This is sappy, but hear me out…

To say this would be my dream job is a massive understatement. I'm a lifetime fan of all things Disney, which I owe to my late father. He idolized Walt Disney's vision, creativity and innovation and it was his own dream to create a theme park like Disney. He was a dreamer and real-life Indiana Jones; a self-made archaeologist & restorationist, obsessed with bringing the past to life. As a kid, I dreamt with him, concepting rides, video games, toys etc. Now as an adult, I keep that dream alive by being as creative and innovative as I can and sharing that passion with the people around me. It’s that excitement that I would love to bring with me to the place where that dream began.

    I lead multiple creative teams in creating effective & award-winning 360° campaigns. Most notable was the creation of the award-winning, TV show-paign, "FANSVILLE" for Dr Pepper’s college football playoff sponsorship–Now in it’s 6th season.

    As ACD I supported the CD by leading teams in creating epic campaigns for Nissan Heisman House / Star Wars Rogue One partnership / Paramount: Ghost In The shell "I Am Major" / I also supported the Buffalo Wild Wings brand and was a mentor in the Chiat Youngbloods program.

    As Lead, I supported CD’s by leading creative development of 360° campaigns for Activision’s SKYLANDERS “Toys to Life” gaming franchise / DESTINY Franchise Launch / SONOS Home Audio. I also lead 2 and mentored teams.

    CLIENT:// Nissan Motor Co, Yokohama, JP
    After a winning pitch for Nissan’s Global brand, I helped build a new agency within TBWA\NY to service the account. We travelled and reported directly to C-Suite execs in Yokohama. Japan. Most notably was our Idea to Install the world-fastest man, Usain Bolt as Nissan’s first Global Brand Ambassador and Director of Excitement. He also became the face of their flagship vehicle, the GT-R.

    I started as an Interactive art director within TBWA\Tequila, but after stealing some briefs and sneakily presenting work to CDs, i was brought over to Chiat\Day as a mid-level Art Director. I was a key contributor to winning multiple New Business pitches, most notably - ACTIVISION CALL OF DUTY & 'There's A Soldier in All of Us"" campaign."

    My first full-time job in advertising. I concepted, designed and implemented website redesigns, interactive banners ads, print, ooh and video scripts. I also commuted from L.A. to Irvine everyday. (if you know you know)

    COURSE:// IDEATION BOOTCAMP

    I love teaching as much as I love doing the work and this class lets me do both. I lead Comm Arts majors in the exploration of the creative process and various methods involved in idea generation and development. My favorite part of the job was honestly just sharing with my students all the “secrets” I wished had been shared with me.
